Hi
I have a old potterton 80 combi boiler that has been losing pressure for 2 years or more when heating is on and im quite regular having to top it up, sometimes every couple of days. I have not seen any water coming out off expansion relief pipe outside house and there is no sign of water in attic below boiler. I have had several plumbers come out and they all say my leak is in pipework of system, some of which is concrete floor. There is no sign of any dampness anywhere with all this water loss. Finally a plumber is going to replace the pipework that is hidden away but he has not even looked at boiler !!! I dont want to go down this route and then find out it was the boiler at fault. Is there something else i can check before he goes ahead with this. If i isolate feed and return pipe from boiler could i run boiler then to check if it loses pressure ??

thanks

Hi

We can't offer advice to non gas safe registered people, i wouldn't recommend isolating the flow and return on the boiler at all.

I think with your scenario, it will have to be trail and error to find the problem, starting with the pipework to those rads may be a good starting point
