CRAIG WALLING

Hi Guys.
I have a potterton statesman oil fired boiler installed in about 1997
The problem I am having is that it heats up above the thermostat on the boiler then cuts out. Then starts up again
once the stat has cooled down.It does this on heat/water demand or just water. The outlet pipe is red hot
and the inlet very touchable.I was wondering if the heat exchanger could be blocked?

airlocks, pump failing or blockage , need someone to check it out for you, must get quite noisy as well
