Have a Potterton EP3001 that after turning the power off has stopped controlling the boiler, to get any heating we have to turn the frost stat on to fire the boiler up. Only the button on the HW side works but it switches the CH on the CH buttons now do nothing.

I have tried turning power off for a while and back on but nothing. Is it worth changing the battery in the back as this looks old and after the power off it has forgotten all the times, would this also effect how it functions? Thanks.

I found a Hortsmann CentaurPlus C27 says it's a suitable replacement. But how do you check if the wiring is right.

you would need to change the back plate, but im sure thats one out there than just plugs onto the existing one
