Hi all,

Have a Potterton Performa 24 combi boiler. When i turn the hot water on the boiler fires as expected (and turns off when the hot water is turned off) but the hot water only gets warm and the first radiator on the circuit starts to warm.

Having read on here i replaced the diaphragm in the DHW valve thingy (as it was a cheap part and seemed easy to try).

Any ideas of what to do / try next before i call a plumber?!

Thanks

J

could go either way, full diverter, plate heat or both or (rarely) hot and cold mixing shower/mixers at fault your better off calling a plumber as they can diagnose your issues properly as they will be looking at the performa as the fault develops

Thanks for the replies - was leaning towards the actual valuve that diverts water according to heating (which incedentally works fine on its own) and hot water.

Have always been testing on single hot water tap (no mixer) so will try and get a plumber in. Will look forward to the bill!

Thanks again

How does a blocked plate hex heat up the rads with dhw call only?
because it will cause the bottom safety spring in the divertor to open, boiler then dumps down hot rads in dhw mode there is no point what so ever just changing the diverter all causes of why its failed must be verified, all diverter valves have a safety bottom spring if boilers did not have this it could do some serious damage if the plate heat blocks, however when the divertor does this its normally ruined anyway so you end up either changing the dv and plate heat or just the dv and if its possible cleaning the plate heat
