Help please.
We have the above boiler in our house supplying hot water and central heating. Has been working fine until 2 weeks ago, now it is cutting out every 48 hours or so. Restarts instantly if you press the concealed reset button above the thermostat.

My boiler engineer says it is either a faulty boiler thermostat, or a faulty temperature cut out sensor, both of which are obsolete parts.

can anyone tell me what parts i need, and where i can source them?

and is this the likely problem?

many thanks

Not always easy to diagnose across the www but it does seem the original diagnosis could well be right. The problem however is asking about replacement parts because as gas safe registered engineers we cannot really be seen to be encouraging the replacement of parts on a gas appliance for non registered people - it is illegal to work on any gas appliance if you are not competent and are not registered. Far better to get a registered fitter in, even though it is a relatively simple repair to carry out.

Transcoman,

this is an oil fired boiler, so no gas saftey worries.
