Hi i've been watching the forum and there's some good stuff on there. I'm a gas safe registered engineer and i've recently had a problem with a Potterton Prima B system boiler, gravity fed. Customer called back to say they've got the same problem which is the pilot light keeps going off. Initial investigation found that the insulation had fallen onto the pilot light, I thought this was a simple one and re-positioned insulation and re-ignited pilot. This worked fine when I was there but customer called back next day to say the pilot still keeps going off but relights. This boiler is 14 years old and i've not had much to do with them, I would appreciate any ideas anyone might have.

I have had it on these before where this happens and also the burner cuts in and out all the time. It was down to the flue - there was a hole in the internal flue which causes it. I see loads of them all the time on prima's and suprima's. You can but a repair kit from the merchants for about twenty odd quid and can replace just the terminal and the internal flue. It might not be this but I have seen it a few times and sorted it this way when there had been a hole in the flue. Also had a problem with the earth on these and it not rectifying the flame and knocking the boiler off.

Had same problem on striping down pilot there was some debris in the injector pobbs from that insulation on the burner case that just falls to pieces, anyway cleaned injector out with a pin bingo was working fine.

Lolipop, you've access to the private gas safe forum, better off asking questions in there rather than an open forum.

Loads of 'lacey' flues on primas, as villa says repair kit and bobs your orange root vegatable.
