Hi,

I have an indirect system and a Potterton Prima F boiler. I've recently removed a sink and added a couple of isolation valves (as I intend to put another sink in at a later date), I had to turn the water off and drain the water system, however a couple of days later I can not get any hot water.

Switching the central heating on, it fires up the boiler and all works fine. When switching the hot water on, it fires up the boiler, then splutters and cuts out.

The 3 way valve appears to be working fine, all the radiators have been bled, the header tank is filling as it should, I've reset the boiler several times as it keeps overheating, but it does the same thing again and again.

Please can anyone help?

Depends on the layout of your system. Usually the highest point apart from radiators. Often the radiators aren't the only high points in the pipework. If you are in a bungalow quite often there are piperuns overhead in the loft. If you are in a two up / down there can be high point in the airing cupboard adjacent the diverter. It can be a thumb vent or screwdriver top bleed etc. Look at your pipework layout to indentify.

Hi both,

Thanks for the replies. I couldn't find a bleed valve, however I did turn the boiler down and ran the hot water, and the boiler seems to be staying on and the water getting hot, so fingers crossed its done the trick!

Many thanks for your help.
