REDSAW

irs just occured to me after having a call ten minuites ago from an existing customer. he has a loud banging on his central heating system, more at the boiler side than any where. he called out home serve and was told he has got debris in the system and it needs powerflushing.
he then called me to see if i can do a powerflush for him but i dont have the equiptment.:(

as i have never done a power flush before, only a chemical flush, i was wondering what was involved and can you pick up the knowledge from the equiptment booklet to do a good job?
i expect the p/f from hire to be around £50 for the day and charge £350 / £400 for the flush which could have been a decent earner if i had thought a bit longer instead of saying no at the start. or could anyone put me oof by telling me its not that easy? a to z in a nutshell plz.

combi

i definately droped one there, just phoned my mate and he has got a pf.
although he said he dont rate them?.

go on kamco website. well worth buying a kamco pf unit. i pf every system when replacing boilers and upgrades plus great for getting rid of air blocks. dosent take long to pay for its self.

I hired a pf to clear a system that was very noisy and ran just warm, not hot. I just put it in place of the pump and followed the directions. Simple to use and I was amazed at the **** that came out of the pipework! After all the work the heating was better and quieter but not totally so. I reckoned there were blockages or narrowing somwhere in the pipework which the pf could not budge even using the recommended chemicals. Never did find the problem as my girlfriend sold the house shortly afterwards and we got married and moved.

Hi, guys first post here. If you are going to powerflush make your life easy and removed suspected blockages and original design faults before you start, I would personaly remove the cold feed tee and make the vent and feed common as standard practice and replace any tired or rusting radiators or leaking valves as sometimes its only the corosion stoping them from dripping. To flush a system properly does take a good full days work sometimes longer, it's never normally a case of just connect it up and read a paper for a few hours.

I have flooded a flat using power flush equip so you must keep an eye on it and remember to turn off the cold feed, easy to forget when your busy
