Good afternoon chaps. Anyone fit a particular model? Never installed one before so would like to recommend one that people have fitted and are happy with.

The clients sister has just got one installed and so wants one the same. I said I would look in to them for her. They don't want a pump and valve for some reason. Aqualisa a, I have repaired a few of these. The client is aiming for Bristan

Digital, not looked into them no.

Forget integral power showers none of them last long, Noisey, waste of money.
Digital more expense when they go wrong, KISimpleS applies.

Fit a separate twin pump close by like a Salamander or Stuart Turner feeding down to a thermostatic mixer I have fitted several Aqualisa (good on spares) but pricey. Some of cheap thermostatic mixers just become throwaways if they go wrong.
Makes sure you have a bigish tank up there I have come across a few complaints of a power showers emptying the header tank or using all the HW in Cylinder with consecutive use (or move the teenagers out).

I agree with above comment. I know of a lot of integrated power showers that are many years old and still going strong. The Mira will last years before it needs any repairs usually. I know of one that is over 20 years old and had its first 8 years of hard use (2 adults + others using it) when I replaced the motor/pump unit as brushes wrecked. I have just recently replaced the brushes only. That's not bad for 20 years especially considering it will probably now go for a few more years.
Aqualisa power showers I don't really like & find they give a fair bit of trouble & cost a lot to replace the motor or the cartridge.

As above 2 comments, We've had Mira Excel fitted approx. 12 years and used on average twice daily, still going strong. You can hear the integral pump but not too load to cause concern

I'm getting confused.

The Mira Excel is an excellent shower valve - probably one of the best ever made - but it isn't an integral pumped shower.

Are you guys confusing it with the Mira Event, or Mira Express - both of which were/are integral pumped showers?

Think they are Ray. The names are very similar. Event, Excel, Express, - so many E words. I was talking about the Mira Event.

Well I managed to persuade the custard to go with a proper shower pump and bar mixer. They love it. I fitted one of those little salamander ct50 extras. I must say, they are quite nice for the price. Tiny too.

Thanks for the advice fellers
