Hey chaps, im thinking I want to get a p-flusher, but obviously alot of money if you hardly use em. Ive only been asked once, in over a year.

Kamco, or Fernox? Or are ther others? I spok to a guy donw south , and he has almost quit all other plumbing jobs apart from flushes!!! He says customers are so impressed, he gets lots of reccoms.

So is it worth it?
How many times do you use it?
How do you persuade a customer to sign a form which says "if yours rads pinhole and damage your carpet, plumber is not liable, and we can supply ansd fits rads if they pop anyway??" This is a bit of a sting in the tail really-font you think?

kamco want 775 for a starter kit (with free training ooo errr!!)
Fernox is 900 pound!

So bottome line, is it worth ? Hoe ,cuh should i charge for an avg 3 bed? 350-400? British Gas charge about 800 i think, comments please..

Also is there any basic jeeting quipment, for unblocking soil pipes, and drain etc. id like one but i cant afford the kit that dyno rod carry....cheers. Simon

Thanks mike, but but can you answer any questions i raised?

Ta.

power flushing .
can u explain exactly what it intails.what are u buying in the kit and where and how is it connected to system.i have done system cleaning many a time but not with specialised kit like this powerflushing gear.

I have owned a Kamco unit for about 5 years and have used it numerous times without a problem. My flushing is usually prior to the installation of a new boiler and as for powerflushes only - I usually nick the jobs from BG as they are far too expensive. I don't think that you could make a living just by providing a flushing service but woners will never cease. I have only done about 10 flush only's in the past 5 years!

I don't know how long they get but I do know that they cherge £700/800
for a 3 bed house with 7/8 rads. A proper flush in a house of this size will take around 6 hours.

Go for Kamco, very easy to use if you go onto there site they give you a run down on kit.
You can charge between £300 - £400 per 10 rads then so much per rad there after.
The unit connects to the pump or rads.
You can get a Combi Mag Filter that fits between Kamco unit & system this will reduce time of clean & also show customer all the black iron oxides that are in the system, there about £265.
Mag Clean do one as well, twin unit & its cheaper & looks better.
If you are thinking of buying one try & stretch to a CF30 HyperJet better unit then the CF30 Classic.
Good luck in your new venture.

no they used to get 3 hrs as a measure of productivity, but the job would still take 6hrs plus, especially when cutting out any obstructions around airing cupboard so the engineer would be minus hours and have to work double hard next day to catch up.
