I know the Powermax Boilers are not the best in the world and Plumbers like to keep arms length.
If anyone could give me any guidance I would be more than happy.
I was asked by a family member to look at their Powermax 155 Boiler as they had hot water for the first 30 seconds then cold.
Having looked up on this problem I first changed the blending valve, then noticed the pump wasn't working, changed the pump.
The pump had a fair bit of scale around it but not the worst I've seen.
Still have the same problem with the hot water going cold after thirty seconds, central heating works fine though.
The two pipes at the bottom are scalding hot, so thought that the scale was at the bottom of the tank and maybe blocking the pipes??
Now the isolating valves either side of the pump are leaking (they look as though they had been for a while and had furred up) this means draining the tank?
Oh now been told that water dribbles from the overflow pipe outside......................will it ever stop!!!!
My first answer was change the boiler, but you try and help out, hopefully saving a bit of money till spring.
Any guidance please. Thanks Mickeysparks
