Pressure Gauge Underneath

I had a customer call me telling me they can't find the pressure gauge on their boiler but it turned out that it was underneath and not in the front panel? (They found it when I described what it should look like on the phone!)
I've never heard of this before - anyone know who would have made them - I'm going out to the job tomorrow morning but would be nice to be more prepared!
(Seems like a good idea because means a neater front panel too? - Why haven't other manufacturres done this?)

Maybe different to what you describe, but I prefer boilers to be not system type, thus avoiding all the expensive and often unique components to be part of the boiler.
Where it suits to have expansion vessel, pump, gauge, PRV, filling loop externally, can be so handy, plus it means a non gas qualified person like me can work on the external parts

I always assume gauge will be located within eyesight of filling loop and vice versa. But still awkward when boiler in attic one foot off ceiling and necessary to lay flat on ceiling joists to read gauge. There's a plumber in Gosport Holiday Let, who'll know what I mean.

I don't know I haven't seen it before - new customer but I was more intrigued that I'd never seen one of these before? It's definitely a combi boiler so I'd expect the gauge to be 'on the boiler'

Which model of Ideal is it - must be old? That sounds more likely than an Atag i think.
I wana see if I can get a manual before turning up there? Why did they abandon this design - seems like a good idea?

a few boiler had them underneath but they were quit old omne some of the isars are on the return manifold bur e easy to see sounds like a potterton puma pretty sure they were underneath at a 45degree angle if my memory serves me

Ideal independent has the gauge underneath. And the last one I fitted was about 18 months ago.

Independent logic logic+ can all be underneath - stupid place imho

Baxi netatec has guage underneath right hand corner

As said , it will be a logic , and when it runs the gauge jumps all over the place
