I have just converted a gravity hot water pumped heating and fitted a new worcester bosh 30si combi the hot water supply to the kitchen tap has the correct flow rate, the bath taps have very little water flow and almost stops when the basin is turned on. I have advised my customer that he needs his taps changed to high pressure taps am I right ?????

not heard that before . if your customer increases the pressure he still aint increasing the 'flow' and aint it flow your lacking ?

the taps on the bath and basin are about 40 years old and need changing anyway as they were not working well before the convertion ,also the supply pipework to the bath is old 3/4"

taps could well be the problem the washers may be up the creek also is it possible that you have an air lock also worth checking for isolation valves.

could be the 22mm pipes to bath too - ive heard of problems with flow when changing to combis with the old pipework

couldnt have read it properlyi missed the combi bit pretty much rules out an air lock

you really need to check incoming cold main pressure mate, what bar pressure you getting?

the job has been checked by worcester as there was a fault with the boiler on installation two engineers have checked and said it is all ok i.e. pressure and flow rate etc

The taps are most likely low pressure. You need to get them changed for high pressure taps and you will be amazed with difference. I always make the customer aware of this before installing combi's

thats what i thought i did mention it to the customer when quoting for the job and they said they were replacing the bathroom in a couple of months and that it wouldnt be a problem !!! only to complain after the job was done I will be putting some sort of a clarification on my quotes in future
thanks for your replies
Pete
