I installed one vertically a few weeks ago and it seems to be fine. I think they only don't work when put in upside down.
 
Cheers mate trying to balance a main feed with a tank hot supply for a shower ;)

Just had a look on Honeywell site and it says that preferably they should be fitted horizontally,if in vertical position there is room for pressure differential on diaphragm.
 
as they are spring loaded they should work in any plain.winston how did you get on with job
 
Hi David yer was ok, shame it was for me so no money in it, just trying to balance a downstairs shower for me when I have been unblocking drains :D The wife has asked me to use the back door and straight in the shower as I smell :rolleyes:
