pressure test equipment

hi guys, can anyone recommend any pressure test equipment for gas. ive installed some pipework prior to a gas meter fitted in a house and want to test pipework that's going to be buried....cheers.

id use a dry test kit and pump it up to a couple of bar to be on the safe side as its being buried dont buy the kit which is about £60qouid the cheap 20 one is all you need easist if you have a small compresssor handy but foot pump or bike pump works the same

sound steve,thanks mate. i was just looking for some and saw there are some for around £30 but wasn't sure whether they would be ok...but youve answered my question.

Id use a manometer and a bulb pump and a couple of small vales to connect into the pipework and do a standard pressure test for pipework. All parts available from BES for about £20. Surely the dry pressure test kit for piework carrying water isnt accurate enough for gas work, only my humble opinion.

trouble with a manometer test is its such low presure ive seen fluxed but unsoldered joints hold up on a gas test plus you cant denso beforfe testing which is dificult to do once its laid on a slab in one continuos run the other plus of course is if you have got a leak its a lot easier to find with 30 psi whistling out
as to accuracy the pipework has to be totally sound so any drop is a fail although when using a comprassor i give it 5 mins to stabilise as the air going in is warmed by the compression(hold your finger over the end of a bike pump to feel this effect)

**update**
i used the monument dry pressure tester with a foot pump...pump it upto 3bar and left it for 35 mins returned to find no drop in pressure....good times.
