Hello, quick question, am I right in thinking that with a pressurised expansion tank disconnected from the system and a bicycle pump on the valve, if air is blowing straight through then the diaphragm is knackered and I need a new vessel ?
Any advise greatly appreciated.

Hi Michael, welcome along.
if you are pumping the vessel up and it won't hold any pressure then yes it needs swapping,
or your pump needs swapping?
if its disconnected then a foot pump is an easier option.

you need an open end on the system to presurise the exspansion vessel either open the prv or a boiler drain cock
