.....absolutely through the roof and double the price of 110mm soil pipe and fittings. There are a great many buildings in Scotland that have 82mm external soil stacks that take the waste from kitchen and bathroom sinks and terminate at the gutter outlet so they also take rainwater. Pricing up 2 of them just now and think I might just do it in 110mm even though its larger and the drain connection will have to be dug up but it works out at half of the cost. Why the price hike with 82mm?

i would guess lack of demand means it costs more to produce. Same with 6" gutter, its about 5-6 times the price of 4" and no one stocks it because its not being sold.

It should be cheaper. You are being shafted by the merchant.

Last time i used it was a few years ago on a council scheme renovation job. Got it from Ashworths in Bellshill and it was cheaper than 4".

Compare the prices here for an idea and push your merchant for better discounts. You should be getting 70 + % off list depending on what you spend.

Aye tamz it should be cheaper, but compare a 3m length of 82mm to the same in 110mm and was getting 2 for the price of 82mm. The guy in Grahams just shook his head and said its bloody dear nowadays. I used to fit metres of this on tenements in Glasgow during the 80's renovations. Think lack of demand has put price up. I get a really good discount from the 4 merchants I've whittled down to be my suppliers. Got a link or address to Ashworths in Bellshill mate?

Everything is going up and up, I've only been in the trade 4 years but in that time I've seen prices sky rocket.

It must be hard for you well established guys to pay so much for copper tube when 12 years ago it was £2.50 a length?

Regarding the plastic, the moulding granuals have doubled in price in the last 5 years hence the rising prices but agree 82mm is way too much.

I can remember when it was 39p a metre (20 years ago)
Goad, so can I and Bartol pipe and fittings and that asbestos stuff PC4 we all readily breathed in cause no one said otherwise!

Coppertone
I actually liked Nuralite (blisters excepted)

Could never get that stuff in the tin of my hands for weeks, think it was called No.10 or something and feathering it was a bugger. And fibreglass ogee gutters.....

Never did the fibreglass gutters but did a few asbestos ones and asbestos tanks:skull:
