Problems with high pressure - Alpha HE CB25 boiler.

Hi!
I was hoping someone may be able to offer me some advice!

The pressure gauge on my alpha he cb25 boiler was very high. I tried bleeding the radiators to no effect. Instructions on the boiler suggested reducing the amount of water inthe radiators. As I did this the pressure went down slowly, but stopped while still in the red. Once I shut off the valve, the pressure needle rose straight back to where it was originally.
I know nothing really about boilers or radiators, so unsure what to try, short of calling someone in!
Any suggestions gratefully received!

have you checked your boiler filling loop is closed

Check your filling loop is fully closed. It may be open slightly (some alpha's are up underneath the boiler)

Ahh excellent advice, I hadn't even thought to check that as I haven't opened it in a long while!
all fixed now, thanks to you both!
