Hi Everyone,

looking for some advise on central heating controls please, don't have much experience with them but soon to be gas safe and need to start learning more.

I have a customer who has called me because they have bought a property and they have a british gas up2 model time control which i believe is actually just a rebranded drayton lifestyle time control & RC plus programmable room thermostat which i also believe is just a rebranded drayton Digistat +3. The customer has contacted me as they are unable to control there heating & hot water properly.

I have yet to see the job and will be popping over tonight but my question is does the system require both a time control and programmable room thermostat as i thought the programmable room stat was a room thermostat and time control built into one?

Could the problem be that the time control and programmable room thermostat are canceling each other out when programmed to different times?

sorry not sure how to rotate images.

Thanks in advance for any help

if wired correctly and heating left on cont on programmer then there wont be any problems as it will work from the stat for heating

Thanks gasmk1,

i will check heating is set to on when i go and look tonight.

appreciate the advice.

also are there any books you would recommend for me to get to learn central heating controls, fault finding and wiring?

thanks again
