Hi

Can anyone tell me what this fitting is, going by the spring inside i believe it to be some sort of pressure relied valve however its instaled on am open vented system
i often see them fitted on the flow of myson apollo's and baxi solo's however ive never been told actually what they are and why they are fit.......has it got something to do with pump over run on these boilers fails??
thanks to anyone who can explain to me anything about these...

cant view your photo mate but your talking about [i think] a safety valve i have only ever seen them fitted to coal

thanks steve
so why would they fit them then if not necessary?? just as an over precaution for if the vent or feed got blocked?

Never understood why they were fitted if you have a 22mm open vent, they usually drip after time and I have removed many of them and replaced with a iron plug. But then I've never understood why an auto bypass valve is fitted to a system with a 3 port spring return valve?
