HiI am sorry but I do not have a picture. A client has a slow emptying toilet on the ground floor of his property. On the outside wall adjacent to the wc there is a durgo valve with what looks like an electric pump above it. There is a power connection next to the toilet. My thinking is because the waste pipe outside seems to be higher than the wc pipe inside perhaps the pump is there to help drain the waste. Does this sound right and has anyone seen this before.? Thanks Paul

Durgo valve outside? Did not think that's permitted.

Have a read of Building Regulations Document Part H section 1.33. It states that air admittance valves should not be used outside.

There you go, maybe Manu's will stop making them suitable for external use now

Yes I see, Its tested and manufactured to BS EN 12380 2002. Says its suitable for external use. So hows that stand with Building Regs? I would imagine its acceptable.

Hope so, otherwise surely they couldn't sell it under that description. Wasn't there a similar issue with fanny traps, that you were meant to use a water trap, but then you were allowed to use hepvo because it passed British standards, something like that I think.

why is everyone doing minion speak (watched despicable me this pm with daughter, good little film, needed daughter along, so as not to look daft, trouble is she is 23!)

Is it a grundfos pump or a honeywell pump or a hocuspocus pump on the waste?

Please state which type and ill forward you the MI ;)
