Wisdom needed.

My old man is looking to his number one son to set him up with a way of watering his allotment with water from an old well that we used to use in the old days, it was pumped up by hand then, now he's looking for something a little more easier than that.

I think a submersible pump may be a little too rapid for watering garden. (500lpm!!) The well is covered and there will be a steel pipe coming from it somewhere not sure what nick its in, but should be easy to replace/connect onto.

I've dealt with wells before but mostly the pumps were massivley powerful/expensive.

Guessing it will need to draw from about 3 or four metres down and push it through a hose/sprinkler system. Not keen on storage but open to ideas. What pump would you reccomend? cheap, electric or petrol?

Thank you folks
