Hi

I have a pressure problem on my bathroom taps and shower. I think i may have got hi preasure tap so there is not enough presure to run them. I would like to fit a pump but not sure what is the cheapest way to do it as the title says. The hot is gravity on the bath shower and basin and the cold on the bath and shower are gravity but the basin cold is mains. I am not sure what positive and negative head means nor twin impeller its all a bit confusing really please help the old woman is doing my nut in .

thanks

Positive head is when the shower head & pipes are below the base of cold water tank, & negative head is when it is not below it. Not as simple as that though, as you may need a Negative head pump where the pipes have to rise into the attic & perhaps also with long runs, to the shower below, - even if the cold tank is above these pipes.
Twin pumps are a motor with an impeller each side, for hot & cold inlet & outlets at each end.

A positive head pump may not start when the shower valve is opened, where there is no, or little flow due to cold tank not high enough, or pipes rising & or with long runs.

Thats great thanks for clearing that up i get that now. Just one small issue? Dose a twin pump work in my situation as in if i were to just use the basin would it damage the pump as the cold is mains and not pumped ? I need to pump bath shower and basin hot and the bath and shower cold.

Thanks

Twin pump will work when hot or cold only are being used, so no worries. The mains to basin tap is fine if it is 2 single taps, but if it is a monobloc, single mixer type tap, then the hot will need a check valve to prevent mains water going into hot.
Do read pump manufacturers instructions - even before buying a pump! Stuart & Turner pumps are tops but expensive. Ring their helpline if you need to.
Hot supply needs to be air free, perhaps using Surrey or Warix flange on top of hot cylinder, & temperature regulated/blended. Really a job for pro, using all copper pipes, IMO.
