Is it ok to use push fit connections on old 1/2 copper. I know you need adaptors for 3/4 to 22mm. Thanks

no either compression or soldered

I have some radiator pipes to alter under a floor in a bungalow I will drain off from the drain point on a radiator to get most of the water out then cut under the floor. Is it likely I will manage to get all the water out to unable me to solder?

you should be fine

thanks just cut and it should stop running enough to solder after a while?

well if you drained down its just going to be whats left lower than the drain point

It doesn't go yellow because its connected to 1/2 pipe, its the Bromine they put in the plastic as a fire retardant. Those old JG are a sucker for it, like they're going to survive a fire anyway?
