Hi Guys

Newbe to the forum.

I was contacted by a company called Quality Building Service's.

Has anybody had any dealings with them, they sounded a bit dodgy

Me too.
Don't know what to make of them.
I did the same sort of thing with The UK Consumer Protection Agency, over a year ago.
Got a LOT! of work from them but it cost £600 a year.
Was looking for some with some good feed back on them.
Will let you Know how i get on.🙂

You need to do a bit of research. The company may be dodgy or it may be quite legitimate. I must admit that the title sounds a bit un-original.

However even if it is legitimate it may not have enough people using it to generate enough work to make joining worthwhile.

You could ask them if you can have a month's free trial to see how it goes.

Thank you.
They want £235 deposit, refunded after the 4 jobs.
They take 2.5% of each job you get from them?
Im ok with the 2.5% bit of it, it's just the £235 i don't like the sound of.

just another load of parasites all these companies do is keep your price down and you never know how many people they pass job details onto

Just told them that i will do the work for them and will pay them 2.5% of what i take home.
But i am not happy paying £235 to some one who i have only spoke to on the phone. I said "if you get me the work i will give you your money". They said "it does not work like that", I said "neither do I". Work first money later!

I doubt you'd ever hear from them again once you parted with your £235.

Im no qualified plumber, but a company that approaches you and makes u pay a "setup fee" before u get the work is horsedung tbh, think about it..

problem is when the genuine company comes along we will tell them where to go as weve been ripped of by these con men there are some sad sh--- out there ripping of hard working people like us would lve to meet them face to face

Get this kind of thing all the time. I tell them the only company I will consider is one which has no up front fee.

Was persuaded to fill in the forms for Homeserve UK in December (no up front fee) with promises of work and not a single job so far.

I'm sure most of the general public aren't so clueless as to realise that going through an agent they are going to end up paying more for the work.

a personal opinion only

I got one of these yesterday, offering Croydon area to cover, same cost, probably same e mail ,just change of area name, think they are offering sections all around uk,slightly dilutional some may say,you have to be soooo careful with these kind of things, never heard anyone doing ok out of offers like these. They are offering be able to get gas checks done from £40.00 on their site,so even if you do get some work, prices seem a bit low,if I went around offering £40 gas checks could get plenty myself
