Quadrant shower tray trim.

Hi.
I'm fitting a quadrant shower tray trim. Trim is supplied with shower tray, trim to fit between tray and floor.
Trim is thin curved plastic and fits to sprung steel clips on underside of tray

The shower tray fits up to wall above the skirting.
What is the best way to fit the trim, cut a slot in the skirting, or cut the trim round the skirting?

Only got one chance at this!

I'd cut a slot in the skirting, Easy straight cut and it will support the trim from flexing outwards.

as above cut the skirt, if you do mess it up you can always use the flat plastic facia
