Question about Grundfos UPS2 - Proportional Pressure Mode

I have just had a Worcester 18Ri boiler fitted to replace my old boiler. I also had the pump changed to a Grundfos UPS2.

The system is a Y type with a HIVE controller and has TRV's on all the radiators. It has a manual bypass across one of the radiators upstairs.

Would it be best to set the pump to a fixed speed or to a proportional pressure setting.

Did the installer not balance and commission the system after he/she installed the new boiler ?

I would leave it on what they set it to and if there's an issue or something bothering you, contact them !

It just sounds a bit noisier than the old pump as though it's going to fast.

I just wondered if changing the speed or mode would make it quieter

Wonder why the installer of the boiler did not do away with the by pass rad so the pump could be set up correctly for your Y plan system?

I believe Part L calls for all manual by-pass's to be replaced with auto ones if major work like boiler changes act are under taken.
Not that you would have needed one.

Automatic bypass is still recommended as manual bypass may be of insufficient size. Is HIVE in same room as radiator manual bypass to function as "boiler interlock" ?
