Hi,
combi boiler in the house 7 Bar from mains I have installed a prv to get pressure between 3-4 Bar. Is that correct?

Combi boilers have a pressure release valve set at 3 bar, so its best to fill the system at about 1 bar.

check on your boiler manual spec,
no bernie, the heating is not mains pressure its captive at 1-2bar.
generally 3bar cold mains to hot water sounds generall ok but a bit high depending on spec.

Redshaw he sounds as though he is going to fill the combi heating system although he doesn't say as much. If he charges it anywhere over about 1 bar it stands a chance of blowing off.

His water supply outside of the heating can be 3 bar, I suppose providing it makes no noise or causes errosion through excessive flow rates.

He should though as you say chec his boiler specs

3-4 bar is fine most combis are rated at max preasure for inlet 10 bar but that would be noisey and cause wear

Thanks everybody. 7 Bar was too much I fitted PRV at 4 Bar and boiler and taps are fine.
