Radiator blanking plug size

Hi, ive bought a flat panel aluminium rad off ebay and one of the 4 outlets is slightly larger than the other 3 by about 1 mm. Has anyone come accross this before and so what is the solution.

Does it actually screw in? If it does I’d wrap some ptfe on the thread. If it doesn’t fit I’d be looking at contacting the seller. Whats the diameter of the thread out of curiosity?

No mate theres prob a 1mm gap all round.

Cheap poor quality is my guess...although you would think it would be hard to get a difference size thread seeing as all 4 holes would have been cut and threaded same time. Send it back.

That’s why I asked what diameter the thread was in case it was some Chinese knockoff with an unusual thread size. Jason, Ask for an exchange, if that’s the same get a refund.

Ours are either 1/2” or 3/4”. Have you tried a 3/4 to 1/2” bush. Long shot but worth a try.

Have tried pal,3/4 is to big 1/2 to small, maybe find a bolt of some description and ptfe it to death.

If it's a bsp thread then the next size up from 1/2" is 5/8". You won't find anything in a plumbers merchants but possibly a specialist nut and bolt merchants may have something to bung it with. Worth a try if you want to keep the radiator.

Tried 5/8 today and its too big. Bugger. Would it be possible to make the hole threads larger or would all the bits of steel get trapped inside the rad .

In the opening post,read it. It cant be much more than a mil or 2 as half inch is too small and 5/8 is too big.

Clearly.
The difference between 1/2 and 5/8 is just over 3mm so 5/8 being to big so gap is approx 2 mm.
If you dont have any sesensible/usefull comments dont bother posting and disliking my posts . Very childish
