Wherever is easiest to access.

As long as your rads level it shouldn't matter haha

I find in the hole is the best ...

Either end - really doesn't matter.

BUT

When I hang radiators I have a little think first. It's easier to bleed when bleed point is on the right (because I'm right handed). If this is in a corner then the other end is probably best, especially if access is easier.

Same with TRVs. Best practice to put them on flow but with 2-way trv's it doesn't really matter. Again easiest on the right but I also take into account the tiny micro climate ... they'll work better in open space as opposed to a "sheltered" corner.

If it's a combi system I fit the ABV on the left.
Open vented systems on the right.

Thermal store systems I fit one at each end.

My only exception to this rule is on warm air units, where I don't fit any at all!
