I have just had a new rad fitted in my bathroom. It has a duel fuel, but when the plumber puts the Thermosatic electrical heating element into the rad it wont seal when the buttons on the element are facing me. if he screws it right up to seal the joint the buttons are facing the wall. any ideas to overcome the problem.
When the heating's on the joint expands and stops the leak, but when it cools down it drips again.
Also could this leak be the cause of my combi losing pressure?

You could try PTFE tape wound around threads as normal and then continue by twisting tightly around end of seating to "fatten"the seat and you can then turn it to where you want it to stop, and it should be water tight.

If I'm honest I haven't installed one of these yet but if its anything like an outside tap (mostly only tighten up upside down) then just keep adding PTFE tape untill it tightens up where you want it.

Of course your plumber will already know this. Has your combi boiler only started loosing pressure since this rad was installed?

PTFE on the thread isnt going to help it will just expand the nut use it sparingley and some jointing compound.

Sorry misread ptfe loads on and lsx, I have had the odd problem with the threads on these.
