Hi Guys
I have an Ideal Logic System s24 which was installed approx 2 years, and haven't had any problems with it.
This morning there was a wet patch below the boiler, and multiple drops of water under the boiling casing.
I turned offbthe power and popped the cover off just to look, and it is obvious that rainwater has been blown in through the outer duct of the flue.
We had exceptional wind and rain last night, so conditions must have been just right for it to occur. The wall is quite exposed to the weather.
This is the first time it's happened, so not the end of the world - and as I can't move the boiler to a more sheltered external wall I don't think there is much I could do about it.
I've spoken to Ideal this morning, and they said they sell a flue deflector, but this seems to be to deflect the plume upwards, so would make the problem worse, as it would just catch all the rain.
I know the rubber gasket isn't fitted to the end of the flue, the wall was rendered around the flue and it hasn't been refitted yet.
Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions or tips. Thanks in advance.
