Raising a feed and expansion tank

Hi
I need to raise a feed and expansion tank in the loft. I
going to fit a new one 16 x 12 x 12
the current one is just sat on a joist next to the larger cold water storage

is it good practice to have it sitting above the cold water storage and if so what's the best way to achieve it ? I can't put a shelf in I don't think so was thinking a stand made from 3 x 2
also I have isolated the ball valve so it should drain down easily right ?

How come your raising the expansion tank? If the boiler allows it, it may be better to upgrade to a sealed system!

If you do raise the tank it should not need much draining as your working above the height of water!! Make sure you can still raise the vent high enough over the tank to prevent pumping over tho!
