re gas safety check domestic

Hi, I,m moving into a 1bed property this Jan and would like to get a gas safety check done,I,m not sure what type inspection I need and i,m looking for advice on that I,m in Glasgows east end and as far as I know the appliances are boiler,hob and fireplace.

Should have mentioned but I,m buying the property and while the home report looks ok it does advise a new inspection

why not ask the vendors for the appliances to be serviced prior to moving in as you are in a position to make demands although buying andselling property jn scotland is different to england

The property is being sold by lawyers acting on behalf of squabbling relatives, seems the deceased owner didnt leave a will, so property sold "as seen " but did manage to buy with a bid 20k lower than valuation! Anyway have got in touch with a local guy who has quoted £40-£50 for check and service, got his number through the gas safe register, so unless any of this is sounding off alarm bells i,m going to book.

Would that be a fair price for the check though, I,ve only been exchanging emails so I,ve still to confirm details and will be asking what i,m getting for my cash is there a standard for this type of work
