I am looking to steal a few inches from my bedroom, to slightly enlarge the en-suite and make the refurb job easier for a whole host of reasons. In undertaking this task i can go either with a 3” thick stud wall, or 4”.
I am thinking of fitting a recessed shower valve fixture and hence my question is regarding the best thickness of wall to go for i.e. will i be severely limiting my options if i choose the 75mm cavity? Not sure if there is a standard for such things? The slight downside of 4” is the extra space and weight, but neither is a showstopper.
The current wall is metal stud, 2”, and it is barely wide enough to accommodate any pipework! TIA
