Hi All,

We are having disabled bathroom done that will also be used by other members of the household. The spec for the sink sated that it need to be a square shape so we have option for the ROCA Senso Square Basin with a single Tap Hole. The tap spec satiates that it should have some sort of lever handle/control & we want a basin mixer tap that gives the soft, frothy type of flow. I did not give single thought about taps but have just realised, I need to find ones that will work with the particular sink chosen & there are so many options with such enormous price differences!!

I was thinking that my only option was to get a "Thermostatic" tap was that would regulate to a maximum preset temperature (so the disabled person does not burn themselves) but they are extremely expensive. I have been informed that one can just get an ordinary tap (some of them are also real costly!!) & simply install something called a "TMV" Valve to the pipes feeding the tap & this would work out cheaper - is this true? I want a good, reliable tap - nothing nasty & shoddy but it does not have to be super luxury either! So many choices have left me confused as top what to get with that sink - how much should I be looking to spend & which ones should I consider?

I have attached some pics of the sink to show what it looks like.

Many Thanks!

Bazzy!

tmv valve fitted under the basin will be suitable. you may struggle to fit it inside the wall hung basin tho, what ped are you using? normally a bracket is used on a diabled bathroom to allow leg room under the baisn.

check out doc M sanitary packs.

Hi,

Thanks for the input - The workmen will be fitting everything as I have no clue about these things! The sink will be exactly like that show in the pics - I think it is called semi-pedestal - will this TMV Valve thing fit inside of it? Which makes of taps should I be looking at & what sort of figure should I be looking to spend?

Thanks!

You can usually hide a TMV behind a wall hung pedestal using (wait for it).....flexi connectors to all 3 ports (yes I know what you flexi haters out there are going to say). You can move the tmv into a tight spot then.

Hi All,

OK! I bought a Grohe Tap so I guess they have a good reputation & are decent & reliable? Thanks for the info on the TMV Valve - I asked the builders & they told me that if they could not fit it in the pedestal, the they will fit it elsewhere along to tap water feed pipe where it will be accessible - does that sound right?

Thanks!
Bazzy!
