Anyone know of any companies that take old or obsolete gas valves and refurbish em? Wouldn't be a bad idea for a business - pay a tenner for the old valves, refurb & test em and sell em at a discount.

I couldn't imagine anyone being interested in doing that because of the complexity of valves and the potential safety issues of refurbing an old valve.

Years ago whilst @ Bgas, we started using refurbed pumps.

God they were crap!, policy changed soon after.

But dont honeywell do repair kits for their gas valves with new diaphragms and seals?

yes they do.....imo.....its like opening the gates of hell!!!!

keep away!!!!

If you take a typical honeywell grey button valve apart, there really isnt that much in it.

We used to do it years ago but wouldn't do it these days. There really is nothing to them.

not saying that i got some kind of mega deal or anything, but i found that by buying the tradeline boxed v4600s or the polystyrene trays of em 10 at a time, i was getting them for just over 30 quid a piece, which i was happy with, so any refurb thing would have to be pretty cute on its pricing, i don't know how much these refurb kits are - never bothered with them if im honest - too much hassle, more risk.
