Regin REGU35 Premier Gauge

Morning,

Anyone using a regin u gauge, the top quality one that uses blue liquid?

I'm thinking of getting myself one but they are about 70 quid.

Any thoughts?

I bought an HSG Guage (single tube type) about 20 years ago that I found out had potentially carcinogenic blue liquid in it.
I have a few others too

But:-
I use one of these for most things

What benefit will the blue one give?

It's the answer to more than vision problems is Vimto.
For example, a hot Vimto on a winters day is nice. Or hot c-vit.
Or hot ribena.

When was the last time you had a hot one Harvest?

What about OXO ?
Anyone like an OXO with white pepper in?

More of a Bovril man myself. But the wife loves a hot Ribena.

Is Bovril not the same as OXO for flavour?

Getting back on the blue liquid. I don't know if it is the same stuff but the blue hsg fluid in the gauge I have is very expensive.
The gauge was over £80 20 years back and I am sure the fluid was very very expensive too.
It's another reason I don't use it. I was always bothered about damaging it.

Cracking gauges mate , love mine , never use anyliser.

As for the liquid .... we tend to compare liquid in gallons i.e . Petrol , diesel , beer , milk etc etc , that blue liquid if my maths is correct works out a out 8/9 k a gallon , wow ! ( my maths aint good I may add )

Is it High specific gravity (hsg) fluid or just a coloured fluid?

Can it freeze?

Sorry about this, I have spotted them before and like the idea but the price put me off.

You get what you pay for, personally my regin has proved faultless & i have only had to refill fluid twice in 5yrs.

Once the meter regulator was knackered & blew it straight out the top before i could switch valve off & second time was when i didn't put the plugging piece back in and it was lying in the gas toolbox on it's side & leaked out.

Still got spare bottle of the fluid which is a specific gravity fluid specially calibrated for the regin manometer.

Would not use anything else,

Defo never frozen , at 8K a gallon for the blue stuff
it better not . Incredibly easy to read , steel construction, streets ahead of the plastic.
If it got nict tomorrow I would go buy another one in a breath.

Yes, I seen one in the merchants months ago, it did look like it was quality.

I had the region one and loved it. Got it for free from merchants when I'd put a big order in. Fluid was about 12 quid but only had to replace twice in 8/9 years. I list mind just before Xmas and am back to a monument £15 one, it breaks my heart every time I have to a tightness test

Get it I have itand the fluid never gets cloudy and never loses fluid. Pay what you get! Plus it looks good
