Removal of old Potterton boiler

Hi all
I have this old Potterton Profile 50e in the garage, disconnected from water and gas six years ago when a new system was installed in the loft. The pipes are all disconnected I just can't figure out how best to get it off the wall! Any ideas? Pic hopefully attached. Thank you.

Make sure the electrics are disconnected. Remove the flue if it already has not been. Below the boiler is one or two screws at the back. The boiler is hanging on a mounting bracket. It must be lifted to remove, this boiler is quite heavy you might need an extra pair of hands. If there is a work surface below the boiler make sure you have plenty of cushioning.

One more thing, if you are going to leave the gas pipe there it will need to be capped properly no compression fittings in the wall.

This boiler is very heavy. I was involved with a job where the heat exchanger needed changing they sent one man and he dropped the heat exchanger when fitting and it fell on his leg and broke it.

Thanks all - everything was so rusted up it took a day of wrestling and a car jack underneath to lift it off!

It's not only very heavy, ca 60kg, but awkward to handle and lots of sharp edges. Definitely a two-man job and at least one of them needs to know what they are doing!
