When removing an old gas fire/back boiler is it ok to loop the feed and return pipes together, we are having a new boiler in the loft but using existing pipes for the radiators.
Thanks

No.
Is the installer not sorting out the pipework?
The installer has finished the installation but something seems wrong, we have had a air source heat pump fitted in the loft and new radiators fitted but on the existing pipe work. but the radiators downstairs are not working correctly they take ages to warm up and then are patchy and hot at the top but only warm at the bottom and the conservatory one doesn’t get hot at all
.the upstairs radiators work fine

Can you post some pictures
This is the fireplace where the old gas fire and back boiler was.
There’s one pipe open , then two pipes joined together in the bottom corner.

Depends exactly how the old pipe work was done, but most likely the pipe ends should have been capped not linked.

If they draw out what they've done they'd see it straight away.
