According to one of my customers my van has leaked oil onto his block paving driveway. I am dubious as to whether it has or not as I cant see any sign of oil leaking from my van. Either way I am going to take a look tomorrow and I am wondering whether anyone knows the best way to get it off?

Just put a big piece of cardboard under your engine for 8 hours... If there is no drips from your van etc then I would tell him where to go...

To remove oil I would maybe try carb or brake cleaner? Maybe google it? Vanish...?

Google has thrown up soo many answers I wouldn't know where to start.

I know this won't help but snow is the best thing I've seen to get rid of oil

If there are no drips where you park your van at home every night then he's making it up in which case tell him where to go.

I'm pretty sure you can get a chemical to clean oil out of a driveway, it's probably blooming dear though.

Petrol disk cutter?

cement powder works a treat, it's what they use a motor racing circuits

After all the panic, it turns out it wasn't even oil. I have no idea what it was but it scrubbed off ok.

I hope you charged him for cleaning his drive.

He cleaned it, I just turned up and said its not oil. He started scrubbing and it came up. It was on my way home, so didn't have to go out of my way. Either way I like to offer good customer service, so will always show up and try and sort out any "issues".

why would you moan about oil on your drive ? isnt that what drives are for ?
