Just been to look at a job of removing an old SE oil combi and refitting it after building work has been completed?

is it the same as gas where I'd have to replace the boiler for a condensing model or is it ok with oil?

How old is the boiler? If it was me I would be looking to replace the boiler as once you remove it it's bound to start leaking as well when you put it back in.

I would of thought it would need notifying to building control as well.

Just take it out and refit it. Dont forget to put in your estimate that you wont gaurantee it and it may be liable for extra bits once its up and running. You dont know how long it will be stood and how it will be stored.

Do a few, where the boilers taken out for damp proofing etc.

normally costs more to refit an old one than it does a new one when I get asked :)

Tell them it's d same labour cost for refitting old opposed to a new 1. If they're spending dough it might induce them to cough up d few extra quid for the new 1

last 2nd hand one i installed cost a lot more to do than a new one due to the fact bits leak, joints are a beggar to release etc etc.
