Not a better feeling than passing your ccn1, cookers, boilers and fires for another 5 years :)

been dreading the last couple days for a long time, glad it's over!

Well done mate on another 5 years. You should private message gas man or red saw and give them your gsr details and you will gain access to gassafe private forum .

I've done a lot of ACS assessments and some manage fine and some struggle, depends on the person and what they do for a living, a lot of people just install boilers now and are rubbish at flue faults, vents and controls, but there are a lot of people out there who are simply not working to a high enough standard, they simply want to make money and don't take enough interest to do things properly on a day to day basis, they can't purge, calculate RPGs runs, have no concept of proper pipework design etc etc, they struggle and a lot get referred as they can't get through the exams in a reasonable time, and these are the ones who say the system is rubbish haha, it's easier to blame the system than their poor work standards

Really good points there kirk and very true. Experience is everything on how folks learn it's hard when you simply haven't had the chance to do certain jobs. Well said.

But your right what they don't know they should learn.

Too many simply don't care, and just want money, I don't have an issue with people wanting to earn plenty, but it must be done properly and by doing a good job, but too many people don't want a good job done they want a cheap job which isn't the same thing

one guy ive done my couse with the last two times all he does is fit cookers and hobs so much of what he does every five years is irrelevant to him

I know two guys who do specific stuff, one fits cookers for currys/scottish power and another who fits fires for a specialist fire company, must get a bit boring after a while, like most things I suppose, at least they aren't struggling up 3 flights of stairs with boiler and rads before they start, and the cooker guy has a cracking barrow which has roller wheels on it for going up stairs
