I am considering replacing the water supply pipe for my house.
As far as I can see from the Southern Water website, I can go ahead and replace the pipe without seeking their permission.
I would like to upgarde the size to 32mm and use blue polyethylene pipe.
My question is ,does anyone know the thread size I need to use to connect the pipe to my side of the water co stopcock? I have read that it needs to be a metal connector with a conical thread. I cant tell from any of the drawings supplied by Southern Water what the sizing is.
Thanks

Are you replacing a lead main? There is usually a grant you can get or at least a low price or free connection.

The usual way is to inform the water company what you want to do, they send a list of how they want you to do it along with an inspector. You dig the trench and lay the pipe but call them out to dig up the pavement and make the connection.

It may differ from company to company so look yours up on their website.
