Hi
I am trying to fix an old redfyre back boiler which has been leaking through the gasket. I have a new gasket but two
Of the bolts holding the backplate and gasket in place have rusted off. Does anyone know if you can get new bolts
Or do you need a completely new back boiler. I enclose some pictures which I hope will help

Hi Paul

its not obvious from your profile but are you GSR.

I suspect not and as such you probably won't be able to get an answer here.

Hi Riley
Yes you are right. I am not a GSR plumber but this is not a gas boiler but a solid fuel wood boiler. Maybe I am on the wrong forum and should be on solid fuel?

You'd need to carefully drill out the broken bolts and re-thread the holes.

If you've never done that, 1st attempt on a boiler is the wrong place to start.

The are mobile specialists that do this for cars, try one of those, certainly cheaper than a new boiler.

If bolts are rusting off, is it not about time to bite the bullet and put something more up to date in?
