Hi all.

In need of some advice......

I have a customer who's boiler was classified unsafe. The existing system was a heat only boiler feeding a thermal store with no Y plan or S plan etc. My priory was to isolate the system, flush it and replace the boiler before Christmas. The issue I have now Is that I need to firstly get the pump overrun connected then get the controls updated. The customer declined a cylinder replacement.

I need an electrical minded engineer to advise me on the wiring as I'm struggling to get someone to help. The pump is connected with the room stat only at present and obviously removing the pump live would leave the room stat on its own. Is there any way around this as I don't want to leave it without overrun for too long whilst they make their mind up about the controls upgrade.

Thanks all!

i dont think you can run pump over run with a lot of the thermal stores as the pumps are controlled via the thermal store electronics which often turn of the heating pump when theres a demand on the hot water i would speak to the cylinder manufacturers to find out some boilers will be ok without pump over run

The last boiler i fitted to thermal store had its own built in pump overrun etc... It's was a Gledhill Boilermate. Probs worth reading the manual for your thermal

Bang in a baxi solo he or ecoblue heat only. No pump over run or perm live req,job done

The thermal store will control the over run. Just wire L and Sl to your boiler. Worcester have a TB on their website about this if you look for it.

And if it is a Gledhill look up their website for the instructions on the model.
