Hi, please help. I have been to a customer last week who has no hot water coming from shower. They have two identical showers the other is working fine. I have eliminated all the simpler solutions but still no hot water. I have opted for a replacement cartridge (advice from triton) however when I went back today it was easier said than done. I have taken the from dial off and the chrome round housing, and the cartridge has four screws, does this cartridge just pull out and the new one just pushes in. Or do I have to take off tiles expose the brass housing , and go from there....I have tried to look online, but I am not having much luck. I will try to upload image...of the cartridge that I have purchased, but mine doesn't include the brass housing,....that's allready embedded into wall

Most cartridges I've come across can be changed without breaking into the wall.Maybe Bristan can let you have a diagram of how it comes apart - I'm assuming you already know what shower it is if you've got a replacement cartridge

Remove the 4 screws and pull. Put the new one in with a smear of silicon grease on the O rings. Swap the flow and temperature knobs over to the new one.
If it still doesn't work the supplies are piped to the wrong side.

Thank you, will go back next week and give it a good tug and hope for the best. Hope I get it right because the entire estate has these particular showers and I have a list of people on the estate to go and see, who have the same problem

Undo the four screws and pull, then pull, then pull a bit more. When that doesn't work undo the remaining screws until you are just left with the main plastic body. Then get a hammer and your oldest screwdriver and you can probably guess the rest! You break the body into small pieces (use eye protection) to just leave the brass housing. Getting the new cart in can be tricky, I never use silicone grease or spray. Just push lightly a bit at a time, when you have made the correct seal it will just push in if you have to force it then you will have a problem and from the description this is a concealed valve so it will leak into the wall. If it is a surface mounted valve then removal is easy as you can take the housing off the wall.

Hope that helps.

Make sure you have correct cartridge. I ordered wrong one to start with and it was about 5mm difference in size. Phone triton and they can confirm if it's correct cartridge. With the correct cartridge it will just slide in nicely and you can feel it slip into place.
