Hi all, can anyone advise on the following issue?

We've got a leaking single handle mixer tap in the bathroom. I've looked at videos on how to replace the cartridge, seems simple enough. The problem I have is that I cannot get the grommet out, to release the handle. Can I just drill the grommet out, and would I get a new grommet with the new cartridge. Really don't want to be replacing the tap if I can help it.

Many thanks
Craig

You don't usually get a grommet with a new cartridge. TBH it sounds like it wouldbe much less hassle to replace the tap.

Will a knife blade get the grommit out?

If it is a brand name tap you may be able to get s spare grommit if not you will struggle

Thanks for the reply guy's. Can't get the grommet to move at all, my next step was a hammer! Think I'll just go down the replacement tap route.
Thanks again
