Currently have a Keston C55 (49kw) which now needs to be replaced. Received quotes from plumbers: one is proposing to fit a Worcester 40 cdi system and the others are proposing to fit either; two Intergas HRE 30 or two Alpha CD28 gas fired boilers. The concern I have is the Worcester capacity big enough to do the job (house has 21 Rads) or is the best to install two boilers?

Firstly Worcester dont make a system boiler of 40kw, they do make make regular boilers at 40kw however...

You would have to work out the ouput of radiators etc to size the boiler "correctly", but i have fitted 30kw Worcester system to 18 rad house before and it worked good, 40kw would manage 21 radiators in my opinion. It allows 2kw per rad on average!

Combining two 30kw boilers would require an awful lot of gas, you would have to check the meter capacity etc for that much kw im sure!

Thanks for that will work out the correct output and will check on the meter capacity
