Some of the plastic inserts on my rad brackets disintegrated when removed the rads. I thought that they are probably there for a good reason. Here's my solution for replacing them:

Take an elecricans's cable clip (the type secured by banging in its nail) of the size used for 10 sqare mm twin and earth (the size used for electric instant showers). Cut off the part with the nail and soak the other part in boiling water. Then form that part into a U shape by wrapping it round the shaft of a small screwdriver. Then make a groove round the outside using a hacksaw blade. Then insert your newly made part into the radiator bracket.

When i strip out old boilers I keep the hoses from the APS. These can be cut up to make inserts for radiator brackets.

Oh come on lads you being serious? Why faff around boiling cable clips when almost anything will do? I've used insulation tape, masking tape, cardboard
and pieces of rawl plug before now.
Also missing just one grommit won't make the rad rattle

Aww Kay-Jay, everyone's entitled to their 5 minutes of fame! LOL

You mean I'm wasting my time setting up a mail order business specialising in radiator bracket inserts.

nice idea tuttogallo, its a good feeling when you overcome a problem aint it. Most rads come with 2 extra inserts so i normall have a few spare of each make on the van to avoid using my brain :).

What's the official name for these little plastic things? I've heard people call them increments, buffers, spacers...
