Some of the plastic inserts on my rad brackets disintegrated when removed the rads. I thought that they are probably there for a good reason. Here's my solution for replacing them:
Take an elecricans's cable clip (the type secured by banging in its nail) of the size used for 10 sqare mm twin and earth (the size used for electric instant showers). Cut off the part with the nail and soak the other part in boiling water. Then form that part into a U shape by wrapping it round the shaft of a small screwdriver. Then make a groove round the outside using a hacksaw blade. Then insert your newly made part into the radiator bracket.
Sorry, I don't know how to make the photo any bigger. I hope you all have magnifying glasses!!
Oh, it's OK now. It suddenly got bigger! No ribaldry please!
